I decided to try this saw to finish up my granite counter top job. We got 2 cm granite slabs for kitchen counters in our beach house. I started the project using my 7 1/4 inch circular saw with a diamond dry cut blade. It worked OK, but the cut edges were a little rough, and the process slowed down as the blade got a little worn. I did some cuts for the sink with a high speed angle grinder, which worked great, so I decided speed was the key.The Makita saw turns at 13,000 rpm, similar to the angle grinder.
