As a welder/fabricator, grinding is not my favorite part of any job. This grinder makes things go a little quicker. It has a LOT of power for its size and has very little vibration. Doesn't get real hot like some of the cheaper brands that I have had in the past. Nice soft start feature and the SJS feature is also helpful. Overall, this tool makes less WORK for me, and I like that. My first 4 1/2 in Makita lasted 11 years...then I bought the "yellow brand" at a big box hardware and it lasted 1 1/2 years.
