I really can't explain the first, one-star customer review of this product at Amazon. I guess that you can get a lemon in anything. This is not a dangerous product, as the review said. Makita is a reputable manufacturer. This saw is and LOOKS high quality. It is beautifully finished and well balanced, with all of the controls and adjustments in the right places. The 5007MGA is essentially the same saw as the highly rated 5007MG, with an important safety improvement, an electronic brake. It also is a bit lighter, 10.1 vs. 10.4 lbs.
